United Airlines to Launch First-Ever Nonstop U.S. Flights to Ibiza

Getting to Ibiza from the United States is about to become much easier. United Airlines has announced plans to launch the first-ever nonstop service between the U.S. and the Spanish island, creating a direct connection to one of the world’s most iconic electronic music destinations.

The new seasonal route is scheduled to begin on May 31, 2027, connecting Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) with Ibiza Airport (IBZ). United plans to operate the service four times per week aboard its new Airbus A321XLR, subject to government approval.

For American travelers, the route represents a major change. Reaching Ibiza from the U.S. has traditionally required a connection through European hubs such as Madrid, Barcelona or London. The new service will allow travelers to fly directly from the New York area to the island during its peak summer season.

A Direct Connection to One of Dance Music’s Biggest Destinations

Ibiza has been at the heart of global club culture for decades, attracting millions of visitors and hosting some of the biggest DJs and electronic music events every summer. With United’s new route, that experience will become considerably more accessible for fans traveling from North America.

The journey between Newark and Ibiza is expected to take roughly seven and a half to eight hours, covering approximately 3,890 miles.

United’s Airbus A321XLR will feature 20 Polaris suites with fully lie-flat seats, 12 Premium Plus seats and the airline’s updated Economy Plus cabin. Passengers will also have access to modern onboard technology, including entertainment screens and connectivity options.

The aircraft is also expected to offer free Starlink Wi-Fi for MileagePlus members, alongside 4K OLED seatback displays with Bluetooth connectivity throughout the cabin.

Ticket prices for the new Ibiza service have not yet been announced. The route forms part of United Airlines’ broader international expansion for 2027, which includes several new destinations across Europe and Asia.

For the electronic music community, however, Ibiza is likely to be one of the most notable additions. The island remains a cornerstone of international dance music culture, with its summer calendar bringing together major clubs, residencies and artists from across the world
