Neman Finds Emotion in the Spaces Between Sounds on “Haunted By You”

The idea emerged during a period when Neman found himself listening more than producing, becoming fascinated by how subtle grooves could trigger powerful emotional reactions without relying on obvious hooks, big drops, or dramatic moments. That observation became the foundation of the track, shaping a deep house record that unfolds gradually through rhythm, texture, and atmosphere rather than instant gratification.

Describing the release as deep house with influences from minimal and melodic sounds, Neman focused on creating a hypnotic listening experience built around warmth, groove, and understated emotion. The inspiration came from analog textures, late-night energy, and the idea that a track doesn't need to reveal everything immediately. Instead, “Haunted By You” slowly evolves, allowing listeners to discover new details as the journey unfolds.

That philosophy extends directly into the production itself. Rather than relying on dramatic changes, the track moves forward through carefully layered textures, evolving automation, and subtle shifts in tone and rhythm. Every adjustment serves a purpose. For Neman, the smallest details often create the strongest emotional impact, and “Haunted By You” was built as proof of that idea.

His connection to electronic music began through a fascination with repetition and groove. While many forms of music depend on constant change, he was drawn to records capable of generating tension, emotion, and movement from just a handful of carefully placed elements. Discovering minimal house and techno revealed how powerful simplicity could be, eventually inspiring him to begin producing his own music.

That influence can still be heard throughout his work today. Artists such as Richie Hawtin, Ricardo Villalobos, and Claude VonStroke helped shape his understanding of groove-focused electronic music, while his passion for IDM introduced him to artists like Aphex Twin, The Flashbulb, and Squarepusher. Together, those influences helped define a sound he describes in three words: minimal, rhythmic, and melodic.

One of the most memorable performances of his journey came alongside live drummer George Spanos. Rather than playing a conventional electronic music set, the two performed improvised interpretations of ambient works by Aphex Twin inside a small bar. The unusual combination of live drums, improvisation, and ambient electronic music created an experience that stood apart from anything else he had done and remains one of his favorite musical memories.

Unlike many artists who focus on dream festivals or massive stages, Neman takes a different perspective. Whether it's a small bar with ten people or a festival crowd of thousands, what matters most to him is playing for genuine music lovers. His approach to performing is equally straightforward: follow the energy of the crowd and allow the atmosphere of the room to guide the experience.

Outside of music, curiosity continues to drive much of his life. Working in commercial AV and IT integration has fueled a passion for technology and understanding how new systems work. That same curiosity often finds its way into his creative process. At home, life is shared with two cats, Grisha and Shura, who provide a much calmer contrast to long studio sessions.

His playlists remain rooted in both established innovators and forward-thinking producers. Recently, he has been revisiting Claude VonStroke's “Wrong Number” alongside Extravelt's “Popcorn Forever,” while continuing to follow the evolution of minimal music from both legendary artists and emerging talent.

Looking ahead, Neman is currently focused on a steady stream of house and techno releases while continuing work on a long-developing experimental album built around acid-inspired synthesizers. The project has been evolving for years, and he hopes it will eventually find the right home.

One of the more unexpected moments of his career came during a festival performance when his laptop briefly glitched. Fortunately, the malfunction sounded like an intentional effect, and nobody in the crowd noticed. The audience kept dancing, the set continued without interruption, and the laptop was replaced the very next day.

At the core of everything Neman creates is balance. He describes music as architecture built from rhythm and air, existing somewhere between motion and stillness, repetition and change, density and space. When those elements are balanced correctly, the track begins to breathe on its own. That philosophy defines “Haunted By You,” a record that trusts groove, atmosphere, and subtle evolution to tell its story without ever needing to shout.
