From a 7 A.M. Studio Session to STMPD RCRDS: The Story Behind Ishimaru & Trevizan's “Take Control”

After leaving a party around 7 a.m., Ishimaru and Trevizan skipped sleep entirely and headed straight to the studio. Inspired by the energy they had just experienced on the dancefloor, the pair set themselves an ambitious challenge: create a brand-new record before Ishimaru's performance later that day. A conversation with Amine Edge during a dinner after a photoshoot completely changed his perspective. When asked how he achieved success, the producer simply replied: "No video games. No Netflix. Just 100% music." That advice inspired Trevizan to dedicate himself fully to learning production through daily practice, YouTube tutorials, and collaborations.

Although their journeys into music were very different, the collaboration proved surprisingly natural. Trevizan credits Ishimaru's melodic instincts for helping shape the synth work throughout the record, while Ishimaru says the creative process flowed effortlessly once the main hook was written. Together, they created a record that reflects both artists' strengths while remaining focused on one purpose: making dancefloors explode.

Since its release, "Take Control" has already reached the Top 33 Bass House chart on Beatport and earned a release through STMPD RCRDS, the label founded by Martin Garrix. For both producers, those milestones represent more than chart positions. They validate a creative decision made after one unforgettable night and prove that sometimes the best ideas happen when instinct takes over.
