RÜFÜS DU SOL Tease Touring Hiatus: "We're Not Going to Be Touring for a Solid Amount of Time"
RÜFÜS DU SOL have indicated that a significant break from touring is coming once their current run wraps, with the trio telling fans they do not plan to return to the road until new music is ready.
The group shared the news during their August 6 show at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California, telling the crowd that they wanted to make the most of the remaining dates because “we’re not going to be touring for a solid amount of time until we have new music.”
The performance opened a five-show run at the Forum across August 6, 7, 11, 12 and 13, with an appearance at Outside Lands in San Francisco on August 9 in between.
RÜFÜS DU SOL began the North American leg with two shows at The Gorge Amphitheatre in June before moving through cities including Chicago, Washington, D.C., New York and Mexico City. One of the tour’s biggest moments came in New York, where the trio sold out four consecutive nights at Madison Square Garden, a record for an electronic act at the venue according to Billboard.
Festival appearances have also been part of the schedule, including Bonnaroo earlier in the summer and Outside Lands, with Austin City Limits still ahead in October. Additional tour stops are scheduled across cities including San Diego, Phoenix, Boulder, Atlantic City and Pittsburgh.
The pause will give the trio space to shift attention back toward the studio. Their most recent album, Inhale / Exhale, arrived in 2024, followed by two remix projects, Inhale / Exhale Remixed, Vol. 1 and Vol. 2, in 2025.
For fans, the message is less about RÜFÜS DU SOL stepping away and more about what comes next. Once this touring cycle ends, the trio appears ready to trade the road for the studio and begin shaping the next chapter of their sound.
