John Summit Debuts Electrifying New Single “LIGHTS GO OUT”

January, 28th 2026 (New York, NY): Today, dance music phenomenon John Summit releases his new single “LIGHTS GO OUT,” signaling a new era of music. Teased during his sets over the past month, the track’s high-energy, pulsating chorus has sparked explosive crowd reactions. LISTEN AND WATCH the accompanying music video HERE.

Opening with the infectious chorus, “where do we go when the lights go out,” the track opens on a question that beckons a response before crashing into heavy, fast-paced drum and bass and thunderous drops. Its undeniable high energy ignites an explosive rush, making it perfectly suited for late-night warehouse floors, cohesive with Summit’s signature high-energy production. Fans are captivated by the new sound Summit is introducing, with teaser videos going viral of his new music featuring artists like Feid and Julia Wolf, building momentum towards his album coming later this year.

Summit says of the track: “For my first single of the year I knew I had to come out swinging with ‘LIGHTS GO OUT.’ Led by an anthemic vocal that hasn’t gotten out of my head since the first studio session, this one has been crushing my sets with its combo of house, trap & heavy synth elements.”

Recently announced, John Summit will make his Ibiza residency debut later this year, headlining nine Mondays at [UNVRS], alongside his UK summer headline debut at Labyrinth Events’ Tofte Manor. During Miami Music Week, he will close Ultra Music Festival’s mainstage before heading to back-to-back Experts Only ski weekenders in Vail and Whistler. Summit will also appear at Ultra South Africa, EDC Mexico, and Tomorrowland, before returning to New York City for the highly anticipated return of the Experts Only Festival following its sold-out 2025 debut.

In the last year, Summit continued his artistic exploration with releases such as “Crystallized” (Ft. Inéz), an emotionally charged track that premiered at Tomorrowland showcasing a new dimension of his sound and ability to resonate with audiences beyond the club and festival circuit. Summit also debuted his long-awaited remix of Britney Spears’ “I Wanna Go”, after teasing the track for months. Other standout releases include “Silence” (John Summit Remix) with Sarah McLachlan & Delerium and “Focus” (feat. CLOVES), each further demonstrating his dynamic style and range.

Last September, Summit hosted New York City’s largest dance music festival, Experts Only, drawing over 50,000 fans and featuring a massive lineup including Kaskade B2B Cassian, Green Velvet B2B Layton Giordani, LP Giobbi, and AYYBO. He additionally lit up major stages around the world with explosive performances at Lollapalooza Paris and Germany, Ultra Europe, and two headlining sets at Austin City Limits Festival. He also delivered his biggest U.K. show to date at London’s O2 Arena before closing out the year with a sold-out performance at Folsom Field (University of Colorado in Boulder’s stadium).

    About John Summit
John Summit is one of the most in-demand names in global dance music. The superstar DJ, producer, and label owner has amassed over a billion global streams, scored two #1 U.S. dance radio hits, and landed four Top 10 tracks on the Billboard Hot Electronic/Dance Songs chart. Known for his explosive live shows, Summit consistently sells out major venues worldwide, from a lightning-fast, under-two-hour sellout at New York City’s Madison Square Garden to three packed nights at L.A.’s Kia Forum and a headline date at BMO Stadium. His global rise continued with a debut at London’s O2 Arena, followed by a sold-out year-ending performance at Folsom Field that drew 38,000 fans, and the launch of his groundbreaking Experts Only Festival NYC—a two-day event that brought 50,000 people to Randall’s Island in September 2025. John Summit will make his Ibiza residency debut later this year, with his first-ever residency on the island as he headlines nine Mondays at [UNVRS]. Whether commanding an arena or an underground club, the Chicago native (now based in Miami) brings his signature high-octane energy to every set.

Behind the scenes, Summit is a meticulous and thoughtful artist. Formerly a CPA by day and music tutor by night, he now spends long hours in the studio crafting dynamic, emotionally resonant tracks. As a touring artist, he’s headlined festivals around the world, including the Sahara Stage at Coachella 2024, and produced unforgettable events in unique locations — from the hills of Tennessee to snowy takeovers in Vail, Colorado, and Tahoe, Nevada — all under the banner of his label, Experts Only. Founded in pursuit of complete creative freedom, Experts Only is a global movement built on the principle of music without limits — blending house, techno, melodic, and everything in between. Summit’s global hits like “Where You Are” (feat. HAYLA), “Human” (feat. Echoes), and “Go Back” with Sub Focus (feat. Julia Church) reflect that ethos. He has also been recognized for his impact in the dance music genre through nominations Billboard Music Awards, American Music Awards, and iHeartRadio Music Awards nominations.

On July 12, 2024, he released his highly anticipated debut album Comfort In Chaos. Exploring themes of vice and virtue, highs and lows, and the duality of the human experience, the album reveals the man behind the icon — pairing Summit’s signature dancefloor energy with raw emotion and introspection. As he continues to evolve, Summit is poised for even greater heights, delivering a rare combination of musical innovation and deeply personal storytelling.
