Inside “Girls To Da Front,” the New Zamna Records Collaboration from ZSS, Buka and Luxtides

Released through Zamna Records, the collaboration between ZSS, Buka, and Luxtides wasn't created by following trends. Instead, it grew naturally from three artists who brought completely different backgrounds into the studio while sharing the same objective: making something energetic, memorable, and impossible to ignore after a single listen.

For ZSS, everything started with attitude. The trio wasn't interested in making another functional club record. They wanted a track that immediately grabbed attention, balanced heavy grooves with a memorable vocal, and stayed in people's heads long after the music stopped. Rather than adding layer after layer, the production focused on clarity, movement, and impact. That philosophy continues defining the project today, drawing inspiration from innovators like Brian Eno while constantly pushing their sound into new territory.

That vision immediately connected with Buka. What began as a creative exchange quickly developed into a genuine friendship, allowing ideas to move freely without forcing the collaboration. The moment he heard Luxtides' vocal, he knew the record had something special. Instead of overcomplicating the arrangement, Buka leaned into the philosophy that has become central to his production style: less is more. Every drum hit, bassline, and transition exists for a reason, proving that simplicity often delivers the biggest reaction when a track hits a festival sound system.

Luxtides approached the collaboration from an entirely different angle. After months of disappointing dates and emotionally unavailable men, she decided she didn't want to write another heartbreak song. She wanted to write a song for the girls. A night out with friends became the spark for one of her favorite toplines, which she later developed over Zoom with longtime collaborator Alvin Anthony. The lyrics celebrate confidence, independence, and what she proudly calls "unbothered hot girl energy." Once ZSS and Buka wrapped their production around those ideas, she says she immediately became obsessed with the record, describing the final version as "an absolute banger".

Although "Girls To Da Front" feels effortless, the experience behind it runs deep. ZSS combines decades of work across festival management, artist development, DJing, and production, with one member having earned three Platinum records. Since launching in 2022, the trio has already appeared at events including Zamna Festival at the Pyramids in Egypt and Off Week Festival in Barcelona, experiences that continue shaping both their creative direction and live performances.

Buka's own path reflects that same commitment to growth. After launching the project in 2020, he steadily built a reputation through collaborations with internationally respected artists and releases on established labels. One milestone stands out above the rest: sharing the stage with Solomun in Thailand, an experience he credits with expanding both his confidence and his vision as a performer. Influenced by artists like Faithless, he continues chasing records that prioritize groove over unnecessary complexity while remaining powerful enough for peak-time festival sets.

For Luxtides, "Girls To Da Front" continues a career that has already crossed multiple musical worlds. Before becoming one of dance music's most recognizable vocalists, she found success as part of the folk-pop duo Oh Honey, signing with Atlantic Records and touring alongside The Fray and Ingrid Michaelson. She later recorded the vocals for "Hero" alongside Afrojack and David Guetta, a release that surpassed one million streams within its first day and earned a Grammy nomination. Today, she continues bringing that same songwriter's perspective into electronic music while recently beginning a new chapter behind the DJ booth herself. Her philosophy remains simple: great dance music starts with lyrics that make people feel something.

Despite coming from different musical backgrounds, the three artists are remarkably aligned in what they hope to achieve. ZSS continues developing a sound they describe as evolving, energetic, and unpredictable. Buka still dreams of performing at Tomorrowland after years of watching the festival online. Luxtides hopes to return to the world's biggest stages after already performing on the Ultra Music Festival Main Stage alongside Afrojack. Different journeys, different influences, but ultimately the same destination: creating records that connect with people on the biggest stages in dance music.

At a time when the world often feels heavier than ever, "Girls To Da Front" intentionally moves in the opposite direction. The three artists didn't set out to write an anthem about heartbreak or nostalgia. They wanted to create a record that gives people permission to let go for a few minutes, dance without overthinking, and leave the night feeling better than they arrived. Released through Zamna Records, the collaboration succeeds precisely because every contributor brought something different into the room. ZSS supplied the vision, Buka shaped the groove, Luxtides gave the record its voice, and together they created a track built to do exactly what its title promises: bring the girls to the front.
