DJ Liz Lau Brings Her Festival Roots Into “Body Language”

Released on September 18, 2026 via EDMArmy Records, “Body Language” brings together two things that have shaped DJ Liz Lau from the beginning: electronic music and the dance floor.

Inspired byears of attending festivals including EDC, Coachella, Ultra, TomorrowWorld and Burning Man, the track is built around that feeling of freedom and connection that happens when people stop thinking and simply move with the music.

Liz Lau describes the track as energetic, hypnotic and made for people who want to lose themselves on the dance floor. The idea behind the title is just as simple. For her, music does not always need words to create a connection. Sometimes the movement between people says enough on its own.

That relationship with electronic music started long before she became a DJ. Lau spent years on the other side of the booth, going to festivals and clubs like Space Miami and Brooklyn Mirage before deciding she wanted to create those moments herself. Tiësto was the first electronic artist she saw perform live, and she also names Charlotte de Witte, Deborah De Luca and Armin van Buuren among the artists who have influenced her.

Some of her own experiences behind the decks have already been just as memorable. At Burning Man, one Art Car set was delayed for hours, including a pause for a wedding ceremony, before a storm arrived just as she was ready to play. Lau eventually started mixing in the rain while the equipment was being protected around her, only for the Art Car to lose power. Instead of heading back to camp, she walked across the playa through the storm looking for another party.

Techno remains closest to her sound, although progressive house and tech house are also part of what she listens to and plays. She describes her style as powerful, energetic and hypnotic, and says she likes bringing her Brazilian personality into her sets and interacting directly with the crowd.

With more music in progress, Lau is also set to perform on Halloween night at Marquee Skydeck. EDC remains one of her biggest goals because it was the first electronic festival she attended in the United States, while Tomorrowland is another stage she hopes to experience one day. For now, “Body Language” gives a clear introduction to what she wants her music to do: get people moving, feeling free and enjoying the moment.
