David Guetta Makes EDM History With Hollywood Walk of Fame Honor
David Guetta has officially been selected to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, marking a monumental moment for the entire electronic music community.
David Guetta is taking EDM all the way to Hollywood Boulevard.
The Hollywood Walk of Fame has officially announced the French DJ and producer as part of its Class of 2027, recognizing him in the Recording category alongside artists including Sia, Karol G, Lil Wayne, Linkin Park, The Ramones and Grandmaster Flash.
While other artists connected to electronic music have received recognition from the Walk of Fame, Guetta appears to be the first major DJ from the modern EDM era to be individually selected for the honor.
That makes this moment much bigger than one artist’s career achievement. It represents a major cultural victory for a genre that spent decades growing from underground clubs and warehouse parties into one of the world’s most influential musical movements.
From Paris Nightclubs to Global Stardom

Born and raised in Paris, David Guetta began DJing in French clubs during the 1980s before becoming one of the central figures in the rise of electronic dance music.
His global breakthrough reached another level with the release of his 2009 album, “One Love.” The project delivered era-defining collaborations including “When Love Takes Over” with Kelly Rowland, “Sexy Bitch” with Akon and “Memories” with Kid Cudi.
Guetta followed that success with “Nothing but the Beat” in 2011, featuring records such as “Titanium” with Sia, “Without You” with Usher and “Turn Me On” with Nicki Minaj.
These releases did more than dominate charts and festival stages. They helped introduce electronic production to an enormous mainstream audience and changed the relationship between pop music and EDM.
At a time when dance producers were rarely presented as global superstars, Guetta became one of the genre’s most recognizable faces.
A Career That Helped Transform Popular Music

Throughout his career, Guetta has worked with some of the biggest artists in music, including Rihanna, Justin Bieber, Sia, Nicki Minaj, Kid Cudi, The Black Eyed Peas, Usher, Bebe Rexha, Akon, Sam Martin and Kelly Rowland.
His catalog has generated billions of streams while providing the soundtrack to countless festivals, clubs, radio stations and unforgettable nights around the world.
Guetta has also earned two Grammy Awards and received numerous additional nominations across dance, electronic and pop categories.
His influence has remained strong across multiple generations of dance music. Instead of being defined by a single era, Guetta has continuously adapted his sound, moving between festival EDM, pop, future rave, house and his underground-focused Jack Back project.
In 2025, he was once again voted the world’s No. 1 DJ in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs poll. The result marked his fifth time at the top of the ranking, following previous victories in 2011, 2020, 2021 and 2023.
A Win for the Entire EDM Community

For decades, electronic music was often treated as something separate from traditional entertainment culture.
DJs could perform for hundreds of thousands of people, headline the world’s largest festivals and shape the sound of global radio while still receiving limited recognition from major cultural institutions.
Guetta’s selection for the Hollywood Walk of Fame signals how dramatically that perception has changed.
Electronic music is no longer standing outside the mainstream. It is one of the forces actively defining it.
For longtime dance music fans, the honor represents the evolution of an entire culture. What began in underground clubs has grown into a worldwide movement capable of filling stadiums, dominating global charts and influencing nearly every corner of popular music.
A star bearing David Guetta’s name on Hollywood Boulevard will therefore represent more than his individual success. It will also symbolize the producers, DJs, artists, promoters, clubs and fans who helped electronic music become a global phenomenon.
When Will David Guetta Receive His Hollywood Star?
The exact date of David Guetta’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony has not yet been announced.
Being named as a recipient does not mean that the physical star has already been installed. The ceremony will be scheduled separately following his selection as part of the Class of 2027.
Whenever that moment arrives, it will become one of the most significant examples of mainstream recognition ever received by a modern EDM artist.
From the nightclubs of Paris to the biggest stages on Earth, David Guetta’s journey has now reached Hollywood history.
A star for David Guetta. A massive win for EDM.
