Bebe Rexha & David Guetta Are Back on Top as “Sad Girls” Hits No. 1 at Dance Radio

Bebe Rexha and David Guetta have another No. 1 to add to their long-running partnership.

Their latest collaboration, “Sad Girls,” has reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Dance Airplay chart, moving up from No. 2 on the chart dated August 22, 2026. The achievement gives Rexha her fifth No. 1 on the ranking, while Guetta extends his own all-time record with an impressive 22nd chart-topper.

The milestone is another example of just how consistently the two artists have connected pop songwriting with electronic music over the years.

Their history together stretches back to “Hey Mama,” Guetta’s 2015 hit with Nicki Minaj, Rexha and Afrojack, which reached the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100. They later reunited alongside J Balvin for “Say My Name” in 2018 before taking their partnership to another level with “I’m Good (Blue)” in 2022.

“I’m Good (Blue)” became one of the biggest dance crossover records of the decade, reaching No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 and spending an extraordinary 50 weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart. Rexha and Guetta followed it with “One in a Million” in 2023, continuing a creative relationship that has repeatedly found success both inside dance music and on mainstream radio.

Now, “Sad Girls” proves that formula still has momentum.

Released on May 29, the record pairs Rexha’s instantly recognizable vocal delivery with Guetta’s polished dance production, balancing an emotional theme with a record designed for the dancefloor. The track later appeared on Rexha’s fourth studio album, DIRTY BLONDE, released June 12 as part of a new independent chapter in her career alongside EMPIRE.

That context makes the success particularly notable for Rexha. DIRTY BLONDE represents her first full-length project since moving into independence, with the singer taking greater control over the direction of her music after leaving her longtime major-label situation. The album brings her back toward the dance-pop space that has produced some of the biggest moments of her career.

For Guetta, meanwhile, “Sad Girls” adds another entry to a Dance Airplay résumé that already stands alone. Twenty-two No. 1 records on the chart underline a level of radio longevity few electronic artists have been able to maintain, spanning multiple generations and shifts in the sound of mainstream dance music.

More than a decade after their first major collaboration, Rexha and Guetta continue to find ways to reconnect their respective worlds.

And with “Sad Girls” now sitting at No. 1 at U.S. dance radio, one of electronic music’s most successful pop partnerships clearly still has plenty of life left in it.
