Coachella 2026 Camper and Airbnb Prices Surge Past $1000 a Night

Coachella 2026 is kicking off this weekend in Indio, California, and once again, the surrounding area is seeing prices surge in a way that feels almost unreal. While the festival itself has always carried a premium, it’s what’s happening outside the gates that’s turning heads this year. From basic campers to parked RVs and even empty land, nearly every available space is being monetized at a level far beyond normal expectations.

Listings across the Coachella Valley show just how far this demand has pushed things. A simple camper trailer is currently listed at $1,545 for two nights, while a Mercedes Sprinter motorhome in Palm Desert is going for $2,853. Larger RV setups with multiple bedrooms are reaching over $6,000 for the weekend. What stands out is that none of these are official accommodations or even located within the festival grounds. Many are simply vehicles placed in driveways, parking lots, or residential streets, often without clear proximity to the venue.

And then there are the tents. Not glamping experiences or curated festival setups, just basic tents listed for $400 to $500 a night. No infrastructure, no added comfort, just the bare minimum. It highlights how extreme the demand has become, where even the most minimal form of shelter is now being sold at a premium simply because of location and timing.

For comparison, the average Airbnb rate in the region outside of festival periods typically sits below $200 per night. What we’re seeing during Coachella weekend isn’t a traditional housing market, but a pure supply and demand imbalance with very limited availability left. Festival economics have always pushed boundaries, but Coachella continues to operate on a level of its own, where proximity alone can multiply prices several times over.
