Bonnaroo Cancels 2027 Festival as The Farm Recovers From Storm Damage
Bonnaroo has officially announced that it will take 2027 off, giving its longtime home in Manchester, Tennessee a full year to recover after two consecutive festival seasons impacted by severe weather.
The decision follows another difficult year at The Farm. Heavy rain hit Bonnaroo 2026 on its final Sunday, temporarily closing Centeroo, delaying performances and forcing several scheduled sets to be canceled.
The weather problems came one year after Bonnaroo 2025 was canceled due to flooding. With the grounds facing back-to-back storms, organizers say the property, particularly the main festival area, needs more time to properly recover.
Ahead of the 2026 edition, Bonnaroo had already invested heavily in infrastructure improvements, including better drainage, 4.5 miles of new roadways and 135 acres of new grass designed to make The Farm more resilient.
Despite those upgrades, organizers ultimately decided that another festival in 2027 would not give the site enough recovery time. They described the decision as difficult, but necessary for the long-term health of the event.
For fans, the important part is that Bonnaroo is treating this as a temporary break rather than a permanent cancellation. Organizers believe the year off will allow the festival to return stronger after an unusually challenging stretch for The Farm.
