Barely Alive Declares War On AI With New 7-Track EP ‘100% No AI’

BARELY ALIVE launches a counterstrike against artificial intelligence with their new seven-track EP, ‘100% NO AI,’ arriving Friday, July 17th. Fresh off a B2B performance with Kompany at Rampage Open Air in Belgium, the veteran electronic music duo returns with a project rooted in two defining principles: preserving the human element behind music and pushing the sonic boundaries of brostep into its next era.

At a time when AI-generated music and content continue to infiltrate the creative landscape, ‘100% NO AI’ makes its position clear. Across seven tracks, BARELY ALIVE join forces with an extensive cast of vocalists, rappers, singer-songwriters, and producers to create a body of work entirely handmade by humans. Simultaneously, the EP reaches back to the brostep sound that helped define the duo’s rise while injecting it with modern production techniques, intricate sound design, and more than a decade of creative evolution.

Kicking off the EP is “OVERDRIVE.” Released in April as the first track from the project, it has everything a bass music fan could ask for: catchy vocals, intricate sound design, multiple genres infused throughout, beautiful melodies, and bone-rattling drops. In collaboration with rising artist Edison Cole, “POINT BLANK” blends BARELY ALIVE’s and Cole’s signature heavy dubstep sounds with Dani King’s emotive vocal performance, reflecting on themes of reclaiming one’s identity and strength after being broken down by someone else. Next comes “WE SET IT,” a collaboration with legendary UK vocalists Ragga Twins that delivers a modern, explosive take on classic brostep.

“LAY ME DOWN” follows as an anthemic and addictive offering driven by a gripping vocal performance from Luci. Joining forces with rapper PAV4N on “HUNGER GAMES,” BARELY ALIVE unleash arguably the heaviest record on the EP, pairing PAV4N’s invigorating rhymes with an instrumental packed to the brim with heavy dubstep and brostep. On “LEAVE IT ALL BEHIND,” singer-songwriter Casey Cook and artist LOST FRIEND guide listeners from a melodic intro and buildup into raw, electrifying brostep at the drop. The EP closes with the previously released “NO BAD PARTS,” where BARELY ALIVE team up with TYNAN and Madyx for a combination of powerful lyricism, storytelling, and emphatic drops primed for festival moshpits.

After kicking off 2026 with their 15+ date “OVERDRIVE” headline tour, BARELY ALIVE brought an immersive 360° stage design, cutting-edge laser production, brand-new dubstep, and nostalgic brostep throwbacks to venues across the United States. Earlier this year, the duo also previewed much of the project’s new music through a high-energy live brostep mix that has gained significant traction on YouTube since its release.
