Skrillex Unleashes Surprise EP ‘hit me where it hurts x’

Skrillex has dropped a surprise five-track EP titled hit me where it hurts x, delivering another high-voltage chapter in his genre-defining career. The release builds on the momentum of his recent tracks “fuze” and “voltage”, showing he isn’t resting on past successes.

The EP kicks off with “fuze” in collaboration with ISOxo, channeling Skrillex’s early dubstep energies. Up next, “while you were sleeping” comes with Virtual Riot and Nakeesha and feels like a direct extension of his 2023 album Quest for Fire. Then “move ting”, again with Moody Good and Nakeesha, pushes big bass lines and aggressive vocal chops. The title track “hit me where it hurts x”, features Dylan Brady and Caroline Polachek, offering a percussive dance-masterpiece. Finally, “voltage (see you again)” revisits Skrillex’s 2010 track “Voltage”, rebuilt with hyper-pop production alongside Varg2™, Whitearmor, LOAM, Virtual Riot and Swedm®.

The EP further cements Skrillex’s role at the forefront of electronic music.
