Portland, OR – Bass music innovator AHEE has expanded his psychedelic bass universe with the third and most ambitious edition of his Bass Quest series, Bass Quest Vol. III, out October 30. Spanning 15 tracks via his imprint, Zot Records, the new album moves between disco house, trap, dubstep, breakbeat, DnB, UK garage, glitch-heavy bass, melodic soundscapes and spiritual psychedelia, all tied together by AHEE’s signature sound design and playful, otherworldly approach to production.
Where Bass Quest Vol. II centered on high-profile collaborations with artists including SubDocta, WonkyWilla, Stylust, SoDown, Manic Focus and Dirtwire, Bass Quest Vol. III puts AHEE’s own sonic world front and center. The album plays like a journey through different dimensions of the Bass Quest universe, opening with the upbeat disco-house energy of “Muse Sick” before descending into increasingly strange and heavy territory.
The album’s first half moves through the bass-driven “Something Nasty,” slower trap cut “Galactic Gas,” roaring midtempo track “Cosmic Club,” and the Halloween-ready “Owl Party,” which combines spooky owl sounds, hypnotic synth work, and repetitive bass rhythms. From there, AHEE hits the project’s peak with the fast, breakbeat-driven “Wiggle Master 3000,” followed by “Rude Rhythm,” a genre-bending collision of Kill Bill-style sirens, filthy glitch bass, DnB and UK garage. “Hot Potato” then takes things back to AHEE’s classic dubstep roots, delivering a straightforward dose of heavy bass.

The second half takes an even darker and more psychedelic turn. “Frog Medicine” incorporates ferocious frog sounds and croaks into late-night bass rhythms, while the thought-provoking interlude “The Umbra” introduces eerie vocals. Following is “Swamp Monster” blending ancient-inspired percussion and flutes with ecstatic dance-inspired bass and “Snake Oil,” traveling into futuristic territory with alien-inspired sound design and female vocals before evolving into a melodic AHEE-style dubstep track. The project closes with “Shadow Self” and “The Embrace,” an inspirational final track centered on accepting the darkness within ourselves and finding balance between dark and light.
Bass Quest Vol. III arrives during a major year for AHEE. Following a 25+ date headline tour, a direct support performance for Liquid Stranger at Red Rocks, and a b2b performance with Liquid Stranger at EDC Las Vegas, AHEE is continuing his momentum into the fall with a major appearance at Wakaan Music Festival, where he performed a b2b set with Liquid Stranger at the official pre-party as well as a closing headlining main-stage performance. His fall schedule also includes Hulaween, Freaky Deaky and a year-end headline at Denver’s Mission Ballroom.
