MRAK is Officially Out of Afterlife
Afterlife is entering a major new phase behind the scenes. Carmine Conte, better known as MRAK, officially left his management role within Karmat Music GmbH on August 17, 2026, marking a significant change in the company operating the Afterlife brand created by Tale Of Us.

The change appeared through corporate records in Berlin, which list Conte as no longer serving as Managing Director. Matteo Milleri, aka Anyma, remains part of the company’s management alongside Aurelia Ortiz, reflecting a new leadership structure around one of electronic music’s most recognizable brands.

The move arrives after a long period in which MRAK and Anyma had already been moving increasingly in separate directions. The two have not performed together as Tale Of Us since January 2025, while both artists have continued putting more focus into their respective solo projects.
That growing separation has been closely watched by fans, particularly because Tale Of Us and Afterlife became so closely connected over the past decade. Founded in 2016, Afterlife developed from a label and event concept into a global electronic music brand, becoming especially known for its melodic techno sound and highly cinematic visual productions.
With both artists now deeply focused on their own creative paths, Afterlife is entering a very different chapter from the one that defined its rise. Whether this marks the beginning of a new era for the brand or the closing of one of melodic techno’s most influential partnerships remains to be seen.
