Mazro Flips Avicii’s “Without You” Into a Massive Hyper Techno Anthem
Some records don’t just stay in your playlist, they follow you through different phases of life. For Mazro, “Without You” by Avicii is one of those tracks. Instead of approaching it as a standard remix, he rebuilt it from a deeply personal place, keeping the emotional core intact while reshaping it into something bigger, heavier, and more cinematic. “This one came from a real place,” he explains, referencing years of memories tied to the record, from long drives to tennis tournaments to late-night moments that stuck.
His version leans into a mainstage and hyper techno direction, with clear influence from artists like Hardwell, Maddix, KAAZE, and Dom Dolla. The original melody remains recognizable, but it’s now driven by harder drums, sharper synth work, and a much more aggressive drop, designed to translate into real impact during peak-time sets while still holding up as a personal listen.
That balance between emotion and energy is rooted in Mazro’s story. He first connected with electronic music during a difficult period growing up, when his parents were going through a divorce and music became an escape. Starting with hardstyle before moving into house and eventually bigroom techno, he developed a sound that aims to hit both emotionally and physically, something he also found inspiration for in artists like Martin Garrix, whose ability to blend emotion with scale left a lasting impression.
Outside of music, Mazro’s life adds another layer to that discipline. A former D2 collegiate tennis player and current instructor at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden, he brings a structured, performance-driven mindset into his productions and sets. His experience playing venues across Los Angeles, including Avalon, Exchange L.A., and Catch One, along with his residency at Spirit Animal, has further shaped his understanding of what actually connects in a room, not just big drops, but timing, tension, and shared moments with the crowd.

That idea of connection goes beyond the booth. Mazro often points to Coachella, his hometown festival, as a major source of inspiration, something that continues to push him forward creatively. At the same time, his personal life remains a core part of his journey, with his wife playing a key role as both his biggest supporter and someone who actively gives feedback on his music and performances.
With more on the horizon, including an upcoming release featuring a vocalist connected to the Martin Garrix world and future performances at Amsterdam Dance Event, Mazro is clearly building momentum. But with this rework of “Without You,” the focus stays simple, capturing a feeling. Not just recreating a classic, but translating it into something that hits just as hard today, both emotionally and on the dancefloor.
