Madonna Beatport Launch Global ‘Ray Of Light’ Remix Challenge

Producers, it’s time to reimagine a classic. Beatport just announced the Ray of Light Global Remix Challenge, giving artists worldwide the chance to remix tracks from Madonna’s legendary 1998 album Ray of Light using the official stems — available now via Label Radar.

The competition runs until September 25th, with winners announced on October 15th via Beatportal. The grand prize? A massive package including studio hardware and software, a rare signed Madonna vinyl, and the opportunity to have the winning remix signed to a label — altogether worth over £12,000. Runners-up will also score cutting-edge music gear.

In an official statement released with the contest announcement, Madonna said:

“My appreciation for the art of remixing has been passionate since I started making music. The ability to propel boundaries and do the unexpected is something I can relate to as an artist. I look forward to hearing everyone’s interpretation — don’t hold back.”

    A Legacy Revisited

Originally produced by William Orbit, Ray of Light earned Madonna four GRAMMY Awards, including Best Dance Recording, and sold over 16 million copies worldwide. The album was intended to have a companion remix project, Veronica Electronica, which finally saw an official release last month — featuring reworks by Sasha, BT, Victor Calderone, Peter Rauhofer, and more — perfectly timed to build hype for this contest.

This is a rare chance for emerging producers to put their stamp on one of pop culture’s most influential records, bridging past and present on a global stage.

Enter the contest and get the stems via Label Radar now — deadline September 25th.
