Alesso’s Historic Empire State Building DJ Set Is Now Available in Full

High above the bustling streets of Manhattan, Alesso recently took his music to new heights—literally. The Swedish powerhouse performed a career-spanning DJ set from the observation deck of the Empire State Building, and the full performance is finally available for fans to stream.

Standing 86 floors above the sidewalk, Alesso turned the iconic New York landmark into a private open-air club. The one-hour set was organized to celebrate his latest single, "Fight For Love" featuring Kaitlin Aragon. It serves as a reminder of his ability to blend mainstage energy with the moodier, club-focused sounds he has championed in recent years.

    A Masterclass in Mashups

Alesso has long been considered a specialist in the art of the mashup, and this performance showcased several new weapons. He opened the set with his SACHA collaboration, "Destiny," before moving into a high-energy sequence that sampled everything from Lykke Li to Benwal. One notable standout was a blend of his Becky Hill collaboration "Surrender" with Bryan Kearney and Modeā’s "Ready To Fly."

The transition between Amy Wiles and DOREY’s "Imagination" and RÜFÜS DU SOL’s anthem "Innerbloom" provided a melodic breather before he ramped back up. Even his biggest hits received the remix treatment; he played an ID remix of the Calvin Harris and Hurts classic "Under Control" and a heavy-hitting edit of "If I Lose Myself" featuring Eric Prydz’s "Mighty Love."

    Balancing Anthems and Underground Vibes

While the set hit all the expected peaks, the middle section focused on his "Alesso Progressive" and tech-leaning output. Tracks like "Smoke Machine" and "FADE" with Pendulum kept the energy driving, proving that his sound has evolved far beyond the radio-friendly pop-EDM era while still respecting its roots.

The finale delivered a heavy dose of nostalgia. Fans can hear the "Calling (Lose My Mind)" outro edit and a seamless transition between David Guetta’s "Never Going Home Tonight" and "Heroes (We Could Be)." The performance concluded with a focus on his new era, featuring "Fight For Love" before ending with "In Your Eyes."

This Empire State Building takeover follows a tradition of high-profile sets at the venue, but Alesso's track selection felt particularly tailored to the New York skyline. If you missed the original broadcast, the full audio and visual journey is now live for your viewing pleasure.
