Wax Motif Unveils “You Forget” With Acclaimed R&B Voice Maeta, Expanding His Cross-Genre Vision On House Of Wax II
Los Angeles, CA — Following the release of “Bad & U Know It” with Ty Dolla $ign and the announcement of his forthcoming album House of Wax II, globally recognized producer Wax Motif returns with the project’s second single, “You Forget” featuring Maeta, arriving across all DSPs on April 24th on Divided Souls.
Opening House of Wax II, “You Forget” sets the tone with a more emotive, vocal-driven approach, pairing Maeta’s signature R&B sensibility with Wax Motif’s restrained, groove-led production. The record reflects a clear evolution in Wax’s songwriting, drawing from the collaborative language of hip-hop and R&B while maintaining a house foundation. The result is a track designed for both repeat listening and the dance floor, a balance that underscores Maeta’s crossover depth and musicality.

Maeta has established herself as one of R&B’s most compelling voices, known for emotionally direct songwriting and a natural instinct for collaboration. Projects like “When I Hear Your Name,” showcased standout records with collaborators including James Fauntleroy and The Free Nationals, helping shape her evolving sound and expanding her reach. Releases such as “Teen Scene” with KAYTRANADA and “Toxic” with Skrillex have driven millions of streams and strong critical response, reinforcing her ability to move fluidly across styles. Having also toured alongside H.E.R., Jazmine Sullivan, and Chris Brown, Maeta continues to build a lane defined by cross-genre collaboration and emotionally grounded songwriting, a direction that carries seamlessly into “You Forget.”

The single arrives as a key entry point into House of Wax II, a project that positions Wax Motif beyond traditional dance music frameworks. Rather than centering purely on club records, the album is structured more like a producer-driven body of work, bringing together a network of collaborators across house, hip-hop, and R&B, and emphasizing songwriting at a higher level.
With a global touring footprint and a catalog that has amassed tens of millions of streams, Wax Motif has steadily built a presence across both club and crossover spaces. His ongoing creative relationships — including work alongside Ty Dolla $ign, Kanye West, and Timbaland — have informed a production approach that moves fluidly between genres, shaping records from the inside out rather than simply bridging them on the surface.

As the second release from the album, “You Forget” reinforces Wax Motif’s role within a new class of producers operating across genres — where the lines between dance, hip-hop, and R&B continue to dissolve. The track offers an early look at a project built on collaboration, songwriting, and long-term artistic positioning, signaling a broader evolution in both his sound and scope.

In 2024, he reached new heights as a co-producer on Ty Dolla $ign’s chart-topping album, TYCOON, which hit #1 in 80 countries within 24 hours, while also launching his Waxtroda project with Matroda, debuting with a sold-out set at Brooklyn Mirage.
Through 2025, Wax delivered a strong run of releases on his Divided Souls imprint, including Beatport Top 10 hits like ‘Gimme That Money’ and ‘Run It Up,’ alongside global collaborations such as ‘BOTA’ with MC Lan. These releases build on a catalog featuring fan favorites with artists like Zhu, Kyle Watson, and Camden Cox, earning support from Dom Dolla, John Summit, Solomun, Meduza, and Chris Lake, while maintaining a dominant presence across major festivals and club circuits worldwide.

About Maeta

This past June 21 Maeta delivered to fans her much anticipated dance infused EP, Endless Night, with Kaytranada which led with the single “DJ Got Me,” a vocal interpolation of the Indeep original “Last Night a DJ Saved My Life.” Produced by Kaytranada and co-written by Fallon King (Tone Stith, DanLeigh) and mixed by Gregg Rominiecki (Kanye West, Jhené Aiko, Big Sean) and mastered by Chris Gheringer (Rihanna, BTS, Dua Lipa), this record is a sonic masterpiece that marked a tent-pole career intersection signaling an era of artistic freedom.
Billboard Magazine recently said “Maeta is clearly ready to turn up the heat this summer.” She released the song “Endless Night” on her EP’s debut marking the first time Kaytranada and Maeta have joined together for an entire EP, as the producer exclusively delivered all seven songs on the project.
Maeta has joined Chris Brown on all the tour dates on his 11:11 Tour that kicked off on June 5, 2024, in Detroit, Michigan. She has also signed a publishing deal with the iconic Warner Chappell Music.
