Ultra Japan Bans Mosh Pits And Circle Pits For 2026 Festival
Ultra Japan has introduced a rule that is already drawing attention across the electronic music community. Mosh pits, circle pits and other activities considered potentially dangerous will be prohibited at the 2026 edition, with organizers citing the safety of attendees as the main reason behind the decision.
The move is especially notable within bass music and dubstep, where mosh pits have become a familiar part of high-energy sets. Under the festival’s rules, attendees who engage in dangerous behavior or fail to follow staff instructions may be removed from the venue.
Ultra Japan’s guidelines also state that guests removed for violating festival policies will not be allowed to re-enter and will not receive a refund. The restrictions are part of a broader set of measures designed to keep the experience safe for everyone on the dance floor.

Set for September 19–20 at Odaiba Ultra Park in Tokyo, Ultra Japan 2026 now arrives with an interesting debate surrounding the new policy. While some fans see the rule as an important safety measure, others argue that it limits a form of crowd interaction closely associated with certain corners of electronic music culture.
