Tape B Bridges Generations of Bass Culture with Debut Album "Ghosts In The Static"
Tape B has spent the last few years becoming the bridge between the golden era of dubstep and the modern bass scene. Now, the Florida-based producer is cementing that legacy with his debut full-length album, Ghosts In The Static.
Released on October 2nd, the 12-track project is more than just a collection of club heaters; it’s a focused love letter to the UKF era that originally drew him into production. While many artists in the bass space prioritize short-form viral moments, Tape B has taken the opposite route, delivering a cohesive body of work that balances heavy low-end with cinematic, emotional depth.
A Collision of Trap and Bass
The album opens with a statement of intent: "Signature Sound," a collaboration with the legendary Atlanta trap producer Zaytoven. By tapping the man who helped build the foundations for artists like Gucci Mane and Migos, Tape B highlights the hip-hop DNA that has always been present in his production. The track sets a high bar, blending rattling hi-hats with the wobbling textures that have made Tape B a staple on SoundCloud and festival mainstages alike.
The record isn't just about aggression, though. Tracks like "Underneath Your Skin" featuring Dani King and "When I Saw You Again" showcase his growth as a songwriter, proving he can navigate melodic territory without losing his grit. The collaboration list continues with "I'll Never Know," featuring the heavy-hitting sound design of Effin, ensuring the project maintains its status as a must-hear for bass enthusiasts.

From Scholarship Money to Red Rocks
Tape B’s story is one of the most authentic rises in recent memory. Born in Istanbul and raised in Florida, Berk (the man behind the project) famously used leftover college scholarship money to buy his first gear. After a life-changing experience at Lost Lands 2019, he committed fully to the craft. When the pandemic hit in 2020, he leaned into SoundCloud, building a grassroots community through mixtapes and unofficial flips that eventually translated into massive ticket sales.
The momentum he’s built is undeniable. In 2025 alone, he moved over 120,000 headline tickets, selling out iconic venues like Red Rocks, The Salt Shed, and The Armory. Ghosts In The Static arrives right as he prepares for a massive run of tour dates, including his "Tapesgiving" event in Clearwater and headlining shows at Echostage and WAMU.
With this debut, Tape B isn't just looking back at the 2011 dubstep boom—he’s ensuring those sounds remain relevant for the next generation of ravers. He is successfully proving that you can honor the past while defining the future of the scene.
