SUBSHIFT and Basura Boyz Arrive on Strangelove Recordings with Disco Demon

SUBSHIFT and Basura Boyz team up for a thrilling release with “Disco Demon,” a track that pushes the boundaries with its dark, eerie vibe. From the moment the drop hits, the basslines soar, making for an unforgettable experience. The repeating vocal sample, “I met her at the after’s / She’s my disco demon,” adds to the intensity, giving the track a raw, club-ready energy.

SUBSHIFT shares that the collaboration sparked in the studio when he came up with a driving 16th note bassline, knowing it would be perfect for Basura Boyz. Nick (Basura Boyz) added his signature vocals, gritty acid sounds, and hypnotic plucks, bringing the track to life in under a week.

The duo wrapped up the track just a week or two before Miami Music Week in March. They met for the first time at the Retail Records studio day, where they shared the track and received stellar feedback from the Black V Neck team. Now, “Disco Demon” is making its way onto Strangelove, a sub-label of Toolroom Records, marking an exciting new chapter for the two artists.

 

SUBSHIFT, a DJ/Producer from the UK, specializes in an energetic style of tech house. His releases, signed to esteemed labels such as Insomniac Records, Techne, Hau5trap, and Confession, showcase his musical growth is aimed in the right direction. SUBSHIFT has performed at prestigious venues like Ushuaia Ibiza and Ministry of Sound in London, steadily growing his fan base.

His international presence was marked by a headline show in Reggio Emilia, Italy, earlier this year, followed by his debut at Tomorrowland Belgium. SUBSHIFT recently hit 10 million all-time Spotify streams, now boasting 250k monthly listeners on the platform.

His track ‘Get Loose’ racked up 500k streams in just one month, with support from BBC Radio 1’s Jess Iszatt. With regular support in sets by DJ Snake, Goodboys, Tchami, and others, SUBSHIFT is making moves that make a difference.
