Spotify Launches Built-In Tool to Import Playlists From Other Streaming Platforms

Spotify just dropped a new in-app feature that makes it way easier for users to migrate playlists from other music platforms — a move clearly aimed at bringing listeners back into the ecosystem.

Instead of creating its own system from scratch, Spotify integrated TuneMyMusic directly into the mobile app. The third-party service supports transfers from Tidal, YouTube Music, Qobuz, Beatport, Napster, and more — giving DJs, curators, and everyday listeners a smooth way to switch without losing their favorite tracks. Apple Music made a similar move earlier this year, so Spotify is now catching up with a fully built-in solution.

Previously, users had to rely on external sites like TuneMyMusic, Soundiiz, or SongShift, but free plans usually came with limits on playlist size or the number of transfers. Now, the experience is unlimited when done inside Spotify — though the tool only supports importing playlists into the platform.

The global rollout is already underway. The update arrives during a mixed moment for Spotify: strong user growth reported in recent earnings, but ongoing criticism from major artists regarding royalty payouts.
