Solomun's Diynamic Outdoor Ibiza Event Canceled After Local Community Opposition
A highly anticipated outdoor showcase from Solomun's Diynamic label has officially been canceled after organizers decided to withdraw the event following opposition from members of the local community.
Originally scheduled for July 11 at Cantera Can Coix near Sant Antoni, Diynamic Outdoor Ibiza aimed to offer fans a rare open-air experience outside the island's famous club circuit. The event would have brought Diynamic's signature melodic house and techno sound into one of Ibiza's most unique natural venues. Instead, organizers announced they would not move forward after what they described as an unexpected public response.
Organizers Chose To Respect Local Concerns
Diynamic confirmed the cancellation through a statement shared on social media, calling the decision difficult but necessary.
Although the label did not specify the exact objections raised, local reports indicate residents voiced concerns about hosting a large-scale electronic music event at the former quarry. Rather than pushing ahead despite the controversy, organizers opted to cancel the event entirely.
Attendees who purchased tickets have been informed that refund details will be communicated directly.
An Outdoor Concept Unlike Solomun's Pacha Residency
Diynamic Outdoor Ibiza was designed to be something very different from Solomun's weekly residency at Pacha Ibiza.
Instead of a late-night club experience, the event was planned as a daytime gathering surrounded by the dramatic landscape of Cantera Can Coix, a former quarry that has occasionally been transformed into a venue for cultural events.
The lineup featured Solomun alongside Johannes Brecht performing live, Rafael Cerato, and Aladag, bringing together artists closely associated with Diynamic's melodic and emotionally driven sound.
For many fans, the concept represented an opportunity to experience the label in a setting rarely seen on the island.
Ibiza Continues To Navigate Tourism And Nightlife Growth
The cancellation reflects broader conversations currently taking place across Ibiza.
As one of the world's leading destinations for electronic music, the island continues to balance its global nightlife reputation with growing concerns from local residents over overtourism, environmental protection, traffic congestion, and noise.
Authorities have introduced stricter measures targeting illegal tourist accommodations and have increased scrutiny of events taking place outside Ibiza's established nightlife venues. At the same time, community groups have continued calling for greater oversight as tourism continues to expand.
The decision to cancel Diynamic Outdoor demonstrates how promoters are increasingly weighing community concerns alongside the demand for new large-scale music experiences.
Solomun's Ibiza Summer Moves Forward
While the outdoor showcase will no longer take place, Solomun's summer schedule in Ibiza remains unchanged.
His long-running residency at Pacha Ibiza continues throughout the season and remains one of the island's most sought-after weekly events. The residency regularly welcomes internationally recognized guests while continuing to serve as the primary home for Diynamic's presence on the White Isle.
Although fans will miss the label's outdoor debut this summer, Solomun's influence on Ibiza's nightlife remains as strong as ever through his weekly performances, even as one of the season's most anticipated new concepts comes to an unexpected end.
