HILDE (BR) dives into Indian roots and minimal new single “Neon Sitar”

There are tracks that are produced in a studio,and there are tracks that are born on the road. Hilde (BR) knows the difference.

The Brazilian DJ and producer has spent the last year traveling through India, performing and absorbing the culture that shaped some of the earliest forms of trance music. It was during her time in Goa, considered by many as a birthplace of electronic counterculture, that a spark hit. Surrounded by musicians, sounds, markets and textures she had never heard before, Hilde discovered a new sonic obsession: the sitar.

Fast forward to October 17th:
“Neon Sitar” is released.

Minimal deep tech at its core, the track blends the hypnotic rhythm of the club with one of the most expressive instruments in Indian music. It’s not a gimmick, it’s a tribute. Hilde worked directly with friends in India, asking how to integrate the sitar in a way the local scene would respect. The result is a cultural crossover that feels authentic, warm, and full of pulse.

But the story doesn’t stop there.

During the creation of the track, Hilde connected with Hong Kong–based singer Sunny Lukas, who ended up recording vocals that elevate “Neon Sitar” into something deeper, emotional, lively, and powerful, just like she describes her sound. Their chemistry was so natural that Sunny eventually joined her on stage to perform the track live at elrow Festival this year, creating a moment that both artists (and the crowd) won’t forget.

For someone who built her career behind CDJs, Hilde wasn’t always a producer. After years of DJing, she realized that the next step was making her own music, her own identity on the dance floor. And that leap has paid off. Today, she looks up to heavyweights like Vintage Culture and is quickly carving out her own lane in Brazil’s booming electronic scene.

Her story is full of unexpected turns:
Before music, she was a nurse.
On her time off, she travels to isolated places and paints, sometimes creating one acrylic piece per day.

Maybe that’s the key to her connection with the crowd. Hilde looks, points, dances, interacts, making people feel seen. And whether she plays Lollapalooza Brazil (a defining moment for her career), or dreams of Tomorrowland and EDC in the future, she brings the same mindset:
