Electric Emma Drops “Blonder,” a Funky Tech House Debut Built for Big Speakers and Summer Nights
The underground circuit in Manchester just turned up the voltage. Electric Emma, the Scottish-born DJ known for lighting up dance floors across the UK, has officially stepped into the spotlight with her debut single, “Blonder”, out now via Muscle Funk.
Already a familiar name across residencies like House & Vocal Brunch, Funk My Life, and the notorious Washhouse (yes, the one with the disco ball in the bathroom), Electric Emma has carved out a reputation for delivering high-energy sets that blur the lines between house, tech house, funky house, and nu-disco. She’s graced lineups alongside icons like David Penn, Roger Sanchez, Idris Elba, Norman Jay MBE, and Doorly — and now she’s channeling that same energy into production.
Her debut track “Blonder” is a high-octane, disco-infused tech house anthem tailor-made for summer rooftops and late-night warehouses. With bold basslines and shimmering groove, it’s a track that feels both polished and raw — a testament to her evolution behind the decks and now, in the studio.

Joining the original is a darker, moodier counterpart: “Blonder – Omen”, co-produced with Midnight McBride, head of Muscle Funk. While the original sparkles with feel-good energy, Omen trades the glitter for smoke and strobe, giving DJs a second gear to play with on the dancefloor.
Muscle Funk, though new, is already making noise. Their first two releases turned heads on Beatport:
- “Chop Cello” by Midnight McBride hit #2 in genre and #11 overall
- “The Lightning Strikes” by Atari Safari (McBride remix) topped its genre at #1 and climbed to #7 globally
Blonder marks the label’s third drop — and it’s clear they’re just getting warmed up.
