Brazil’s Fran Bortolossi Continues Disco’s Progression with Candy Flip Music Release Ahead of his Milestone Event

‘Romance’ supremely captures Fran Bortolossi’s current frequency as he looks to celebrate his imprint’s 15th anniversary this coming April 13th in Caxias Do Sul, southern Brazil. ‘Romance’ is an interstellar progressive disco house record released on the prominent Bogota born label and event curator Candy Flip Music. 

Diving deeper into the production of the single, Fran shares his creative process and vision for ‘Romance’,

“The main lead, I recorded with my Prophet 6 Sequential. For the bass line I used the Moog Sub37. There are also some touches using the Moog DFAM, plus a lot of plugins. I think the main idea came with that repetitive bass line while I was jamming in the studio with the Prophet 6 and then the tune just happened. I imagine this tune playing mainly with sunlight into some sunset parties. It’s house music full of melodies for people enjoying at events or driving around.” 



Fran is widely known for his highly-played releases on labels such as Warung Records, Get Physical, or Otherwise Records and playing at Tomorrowland Brazil, parties during the Off Sónar and Amsterdam Dance Event, as well as elrow and clubs like D-Edge, Warung and Vibe (Brazil), Crobar (Argentina) and Ritter Butzke (Germany).

As you venture through Bortolossi’s story you will soon find yourself immersed within the best of the underground. Previous tracks released under his imprint, Colours, have come from artists that touch the globe with their house and techno such as Joris Voorn, Dubfire, Chris Liebing, ANNA and Giorgia Angiuli. 

The 15th birthday celebration brings key selectors for Colours: Kolombo, Anthony Middleton (Audiofly), Eli Wasa, Vivi Seisax and Fran Bortolossi.

Colours shared about the lineup, commenting that Kolombo is “one of the most recognized Belgian producers thanks to his perfect mastery of the art of music production which has undergone a lot of experimentation in different genres,” Anthony Middleton is a “revolutionary in the electronic scene, a DJ and producer with over 30 years of career”, Eli Wasa is “one of the most sought after DJs on the scene” and “Vivi Seixas arrives to make our 15th birthday party even brighter.” Plus a romantic set by Fran Bortolossi will make Colours’ 15th anniversary one of the best spots in the world on April 13th.
