Insomniac Secures $10 Million to Build Permanent New Venue in Las Vegas

Las Vegas has long served as the second home for Insomniac, but the brand is now moving toward a permanent physical footprint in the city. The Clark County Commission, acting as the county’s Redevelopment Agency, recently voted 6-0 to approve $10 million in funding for the development of a new events venue at 800 Liberace Avenue.

The site, formerly known as the Sahara Event Center within the Historic Commercial Center, is currently being leased by Insomniac. According to a staff report, the multi-million dollar allocation is designated for the future purchase of the property and a full-scale rehabilitation of the building. The funds will be released once a formal agreement between the promoter and the county is finalized.

Inside the Vision for Liberace Avenue

While specific design details remain under wraps, preliminary records suggest a massive transformation for the space. The proposed layout features a main warehouse floor designed for live music with a capacity of approximately 5,000 guests. This area is expected to cater to the 18+ crowd, while an upstairs lounge would offer a more exclusive 21+ experience.

Beyond the indoor walls, Insomniac is also prioritizing the use of the neighboring county-owned parking lot. This suggests the venue could host larger outdoor blocks parties or mini-festivals, similar to the vibe of the Factory 93 or Interstellar events. While some local residents have expressed concerns about the project during commission meetings, the unanimous vote indicates strong municipal backing for the nightlife giant's expansion.

Insomniac’s Growing Vegas Empire

This move isn't happening in a vacuum. It follows a landmark year for Pasquale Rotella and his team in Nevada. Earlier this year, the first-ever World Party Parade took over the Las Vegas Strip to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Electric Daisy Carnival. The presence of the brand in the city is only getting stronger; EDC Las Vegas is officially expanding to a two-weekend format starting in 2027, introducing "EDC Dusk" and "EDC Dawn."

The new venue represents a shift from temporary festival grounds to a year-round hub for electronic music culture in the desert. Having a dedicated 5,000-cap space allows Insomniac to bridge the gap between intimate club shows at venues like XS or Marquee and the massive scale of the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
