TechTonic Reimagines Whitney Waz’s ‘I’ve Already Died’ on Grand Alliance Music

In an exciting collaboration that bridges musical worlds, a Michigan match made in heaven, TechTonic remixes of Whitney Waz‘s ‘I’ve Already Died’. Tech Tonic has transformed the originally drum and bass single into what he describes as “a rich, multi-genre interpretation”—creating an immersive dance floor experience where Whitney’s soaring topline vocals rush over listeners, elevating the emotional impact of the original cut.

The remix’s journey began at Big Fam Festival in Brooklyn, Michigan, where Whitney Waz and Aaron were laying down the sunset set ahead of daily bread and The Widdler. During the festival, the two artists connected and made the spontaneous decision to approach Grand Alliance Music about signing the record.

Reflecting on the release, Whitney shares, “I feel grateful for the evolution and the growth in which I’ve graciously succumbed to this past year. There’s been ups and there’s certainly been downs but at the end of it all I’ve remained extremely true to who I am. The trials and the tribulations that present themselves to us on our journey become the weapons we yield to prosper.

We are all capable. We are all worthy. We deserve every good thing coming to us. I don’t say it enough or maybe I should say it 15 times a day instead of just 10 but I’m so extremely grateful for my life. The good and the bad as well as the in between.”

Whitney’s musical journey includes impressive collaborations, including work with GRAMMY-nominated producer Jared Lee Gosselin, who has worked with notable artists like JoJo and Whitney Houston, as discussed on the “Catching Up with Carter” podcast. Her musical connections extend to performing with one of Beyonce‘s guitar players on one of her records. Interestingly, ‘I’ve Already Died’ first caught Jared’s attention when Whitney sent him the original drum and bass version, sparking his interest in collaboration.

Her recent projects include the track ‘Perennial’, created during the Perennial Music Retreat with Thane on Earth and featuring Sister Stone, Mar in Color, and Gar Den Boi, plus a recent feature on BUTTONZ latest EP, ‘Rebirth’.

Whitney’s performance resume includes appearances at multiple Rainbow Farms’ festivals and two Big Cloud festivals. Fans can look forward to her upcoming release ‘Like a Dru’, scheduled for April 27th.

Whitney’s extended family includes the crew behind The Boredom Fighters Foundation, which recently received support from the Denver Community Resources for their Instrument Garden program at Art Days. The foundation will be present at Bliss Fest in Harbor Springs, Michigan this July, where Elephant Revival will headline.

Whitney’s commitment to music education shines through her work with The Boredom Fighters, where she conducted a 10-week music empowerment session that enabled 10 youth to learn how to produce their own music using Ableton software.
