Linkin Park Returns with New Vocalist Emily Armstrong and New Music: The Next Chapter Begins

After a heartbreaking hiatus since the tragic death of Chester Bennington in 2017, Linkin Park has officially announced their long-awaited return. The band revealed on Thursday that Emily Armstrong, former vocalist of the band Dead Sara, will be taking over the lead vocals, marking a new chapter for the group. Armstrong brings fresh energy to the band, which also sees the addition of Colin Brittain on drums, known for working with artists like G Flip, One OK Rock, and Illenium.

Founding members Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, DJ Joe Hahn, and Phoenix remain, ready to deliver their first album since One More Light, which was released just two months before Bennington’s passing. The new album, titled From Zero, is set to drop on November 15 and will feature 11 tracks, with the lead single “The Emptiness Machine” already available on streaming platforms.

Global Tour and the Next Steps

In addition to From Zero, Linkin Park announced a global tour that will kick off with performances in cities like Inglewood, New York, London, Germany, South Korea, and Colombia. This will be their first tour since the final leg of the One More Light album cycle, introducing fans to the band’s next chapter with Armstrong on vocals.

Linkin Park’s comeback, even with new members and evolving sounds, promises to be a significant milestone in the band’s career. They remain one of the most influential groups in rock and nu-metal. For longtime fans, this new release is a continuation of a legacy, now carried forward by Emily Armstrong’s powerful voice.

Remembering Chester Bennington

The decision to move forward wasn’t easy for the band, which suffered the loss of Chester Bennington, one of the most iconic voices in modern rock, in a tragic moment for music. Bennington, who took his own life on the day his close friend Chris Cornell would have turned 53, left an irreplaceable gap in the band and in the hearts of fans.

Now, with a new phase, Linkin Park is ready to honor Chester’s legacy while looking ahead to the future with fresh sounds and compositions, keeping the band’s spirit alive for generations to come.
