“I’m Tim”: Avicii Documentary and Final Ibiza Show Now on Netflix
Netflix has released the highly anticipated Avicii documentary ‘I’m Tim’, alongside full footage of the late artist’s final live performance at Ushuaïa Ibiza, giving fans an intimate glimpse into the life and legacy of the EDM legend.
Premiering earlier this year at the Tribeca Film Festival, the documentary chronicles the meteoric rise of Tim Bergling, known worldwide as Avicii, through a blend of never-before-seen footage, interviews, and narration by the late artist himself. The film captures pivotal moments in his career, from chart-topping hits to sold-out performances, while also delving into his personal struggles and the pressures of fame that ultimately led to his tragic death in 2018.
Key figures in Avicii’s life and career, including David Guetta, Nile Rodgers, and Coldplay’s Chris Martin, share insights into his impact on the music world. The film’s synopsis poignantly states: “Before there was Avicii, there was just Tim. For the first time through his own words, witness the journey of a shy but prodigious musical talent who would soon become one of the defining artists of his generation.”
Alongside the documentary, Netflix has also made available the full recording of Avicii’s final live performance at Ushuaïa Ibiza, which took place on August 28th, 2016. While clips of this iconic set surfaced online in 2023, this marks the first time fans can experience the complete show in high quality.
In October, a charity auction featuring Avicii’s personal items raised over $750,000 for the Tim Bergling Foundation, which continues to honor his legacy by promoting mental health awareness and suicide prevention.
