Elohim Interview

Elohim’s Deluxe Edition of Power of Panic gives new life to the original. What made you decide to rework tracks like ‘Sail’?

Sail has been one of my favorite songs for years. It has a magical thing to it where every time I put it on I feel empowered. It brings out so much different emotions inside of me without fail every single time I hear it no matter how many times. That is unique.

When I became such close friends with Aaron it only made me love the song and his catalog of music more! Also rare in this industry! One day I sat at the piano and started singing it and it just felt right! Sometimes it just works!

With over 600 million streams and shows at festivals like Coachella, Lollapalooza and Electric Forest, how do these live experiences shape your music?

Some of my greatest memories and milestones have been these massive festival sets. Also, some of my greatest challenges! It feels like a huge accomplishment to have played these festivals and one I never take for granted. It really shaped so much of how I created music.

Festival-goers are massive music lovers and to feel that connection is a brilliant feeling. It made me create music with that moment and that exact feeling in mind! Creating a song and feeling “I cannot wait to play this out” right away feels unreal. I’m having that feeling right now as I’m sitting in my studio! It’s a magical feeling.. It got me out of my week-long depressive episode! But I swear I can almost see the beautiful faces in the crowd while I create!

Working with heavyweights like Skrillex and Marshmello adds a fresh edge to your sound. What do you look for when choosing collaborators?

I love meeting talented people! Of course, it’s awesome when they can help you get an introduction to their fan base but to me, I want to work with people who find magic in music in a similar way that I do. Creating because we love it. Creating to put love and light into the world. Honestly, collaboration is a lot of trial and error! I spent all of last year collaborating with different writers producers and artists and it was amazing. When it’s a right fit you usually just know straight away.

Your tracks are a great mix of real life stories and sheer power —how do you balance deep feeling with a heavier sound?

I love the challenge of finding the soft emotion the heavy empowering message the dark the fun light-heartedness and somehow bringing it all together as some weird family. That is one of the most beautiful aspects of songwriting and creating to me. It’s all really a puzzle. It is also so completely dependent on what I am feeling that day or month or year. That is what is so cool creating is its own form of intense therapy.

Sometimes you leave feeling shitty and sometimes you leave feeling reborn. Today I was feeling really depressed and down and out and I happened to be in a magic session that just WORKED off rip. And it quite literally brought me out of my funk! That is my reason.

Looking ahead, what surprises or new directions can fans expect after this Deluxe Edition?

I think some kinda flashback to earlier music maybe… I wrote 68 songs last year… I got a lot in the vault right now that I can’t wait to share. Forever expanding creating and sharing and just trying to navigate being a human on this bizarre planet.

Through her Sunday Scaries series hosted on Twitch, Elohim continues an open dialogue with her fans, providing a space where discussions on mental health, anxiety, and creative endurance flourish – unfiltered by design, it’s a window into an artist willing to lay everything on the table. The Deluxe Edition doesn’t just add more music; it expands the conversation.
