Big Wild Releases New Album ‘Wild Child’ and Announces North American Tour

Big Wild (Jackson Stell) has released his bold new album Wild Child via Giant Music—his most dynamic and personal project to date. After 2022’s The Efferusphere, Stell reconnected with his creative curiosity by embracing his “inner child,” an alter ego called Wild Child.

The album marks a sonic shift from electronic foundations to a richer palette drawing from indie-pop, psychedelic rock, and ’60s textures. These songs pulse with live instrumentation and playful unpredictability, exploring themes of renewal, resilience, and connection to the earth. The project features collaborations with Phantogram, iDA HAWK, and rock band Twen.

This fall, Big Wild embarks on his “Wild Child Tour” across North America with support from Shallou, kicking off September 4 in Nashville and concluding October 11 in Troutdale, OR. The tour includes stops at Denver’s Mission Ballroom (September 27) and LA’s The Wiltern (October 4). $1 from every ticket sold benefits Portland’s Ethos Music Center, providing free music education to Oregon students.

“What does it actually mean to grow up?” Stell asks. “Wild child, my inner child superhero, fights back against the pressures to grow up by challenging what it means to actually grow up. Maturity is not repressing one’s inner child, but learning to keep it alive despite all of life’s challenges.”

Wild Child is available now via Giant Music.
