Axwell Returns With First Solo Single In 7 Years: “Until The Lights Go Out” Featuring CARMA

Axwell is officially back. After a seven-year hiatus from solo releases, the iconic Swedish DJ and producer has unveiled “Until The Lights Go Out”, a powerful collaboration with CARMA, released via Axtone. Premiered at Ultra Europe in 2024 and played consistently in his sets since, the track marks a new era for the legendary artist as Axtone celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2025.

The release comes shortly after news broke that Axwell sold Axtone Records to Pophouse Entertainment, hinting at a transitional yet exciting chapter. Despite a quiet few years on the solo production front, he’s reemerged in full force — and “Until The Lights Go Out” is proof. Driven by thunderous kicks and high-energy synths, the single might just be one of the most intense records in his discography, outpacing even 2016’s “Barricade” in sheer power.

CARMA — the newly formed duo of James Carter and Tom Martin — provide the soaring vocals that elevate the track into a cinematic, mainstage-ready anthem. Carter’s credits include work with MEDUZA, while Martin has written for Martin Garrix, Snoop Dogg, and Duncan Laurence. Their fusion with Axwell’s signature production delivers a crisp, emotional peak-time record that’s already proving to be a fan favorite.

Axwell debuted the track during his first-ever solo set at Ultra Miami, where it instantly stood out as one of the night’s highlights. In 2025, he’s more active than ever — appearing solo at Tomorrowland Winter, EDC China, and other major festivals, while also teasing the return of Swedish House Mafia and launching Superhuman, his new creative studio and record label alongside Sebastian Ingrosso and Steve Angello.
