Just two days before the gates were set to open, a massive fire destroyed the main stage at Tomorrowland in Boom, Belgium, raising concerns across the global dance music community. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, according to an emergency press conference held by festival representatives.
The fire, which broke out around 5 PM (CEST) on July 16th, is still under investigation. Approximately 1,000 crew members were working on site at the time and were safely evacuated. The cause of the fire remains unknown.

Despite the incident, organizers have reassured fans that the festival is moving forward. In an official statement, they emphasized their commitment to “finding solutions” to ensure Tomorrowland 2025 takes place as planned during both weekends — July 18-20 and July 25-27.
Festivalgoers began arriving this morning at the DreamVille campsite, where 38,000 people are expected today alone. Over the two weekends, the festival anticipates welcoming more than 400,000 attendees. Earlier today, Tomorrowland confirmed that “all Global Journey activities in Brussels and Antwerp are going ahead as scheduled,” and importantly, “no other areas or stages were affected by the fire.”
While a new main stage is being constructed, organizers stated in a message to artists that they are doing “whatever is in our power” to open on time, maintaining the original lineup and ensuring safety remains the top priority.
As of now, the festival is working closely with local authorities, including police and fire officials, as well as the mayors of Boom and Rumst, to finalize solutions. According to local media outlets, Tomorrowland will go ahead, with only the final format still to be confirmed. A formal update is expected by 6 PM (CEST).

Meanwhile, The Gathering, the traditional opening party at DreamVille, is proceeding as planned, with early arrivals already heading to the stage.
