Atari Safari, the UK-based DJ/production duo known for blending Chicago House, Funk, Soul, Acid, and Balearic influences, are back with their latest release, “The Lightning Strikes” , on Muscle Funk, the label founded by Midnight McBride. This is the second release on the imprint, following the success of “Chop Cello,” which charted at #2 on the genre release chart, #6 on the Hype chart, and #34 on the overall chart.
With a refined Minimal/Deep Tech approach, “The Lightning Strikes” showcases Atari Safari’s ability to fuse tight production skills with deep rhythmic sensibility. The release also includes a remix titled “The Lightning Strikes Twice” by Midnight McBride, offering a distinctive spin on the original while keeping its core energy intact.

Hailing from the Northwest of England, Atari Safari — comprised of Keef and Ben Booker — have carved a unique path in house music. Their catalog boasts over 150 tracks across notable labels like Under Pressure, Freakin909, Klaphouse, and Reptile Dysfunction. The duo has delivered charting releases on Beatport, remixed for names like CASSIMM, EDUKE, and Wananchi, and received airplay on BBC Radio 1 courtesy of Danny Howard and Jamie Jones.
Outside the studio, their performance history includes sets at Sankeys (Manchester), Egg (London), and Club NL (Amsterdam). Upcoming festival appearances include Stand in the Light (May 24, supporting Danny Rampling), Boho Festival (July 25, supporting Graeme Park), and FAC51 The Hacienda at Wollaton Hall (September 6, alongside Armand Van Helden and Groove Armada).
Beyond the booth, Ben Booker’s background in live sound engineering has seen him work with David Guetta, Groove Armada, and Run DMC, and mix stages at Glastonbury, Sonar, and Coachella. This technical expertise enriches every aspect of their creative output.
