The track features a captivating vocal sample, “I wish I was your record baby,” which integrates effortlessly with the lush keys, while the gentle percussion adds a perfect finishing touch. This combination creates a vibe that’s both nostalgic and fresh.

‘I Wish I Was Your Record’ has already earned acclaim from house music heavyweights. Noizu has called it “Sick!”, Jamie Jones is “Feeling this,” and Black V Neck dubbed it a “Nice one!” With its release on Walker & Royce‘s RDA Records, this track is poised to resonate deeply with true house music enthusiasts, delivering a straightforward yet compelling experience that stays true to the genre.

Ben Dragon shares his words around the release,

“I always tend to make the best music collabs in-person with actual friends and people who you really vibe with. At the end of the day it allows you to reach deeper and try things that you wouldn’t be able to do with someone you’re not comfortable with.

Juliet and I have been close friends for a long time since we are both house dancers and DJs. She’s a great lyricist and tells her stories in a raw authentic way. When she came over to the lair, she was going through some turbulence in her life and wanted to write a song about “being in love at the wrong time with the right person”.

I could immediately relate and started playing the deep house chords that matched the vibe and helped craft the writing to a club format. I handed her a vintage broadcasting mic to match the raw vibe in her tone and feelings which definitely came through on the recording. From there the track came together really quickly.

The funny thing is that we went through sooo many versions of the song after, but the one that everyone loved was the first version. It’s not always about perfection but when music makes you feel something you gotta go with it.”
