Skrillex & Diplo secretly completed a second Jack Ü album, but fans may never hear it

When Skrillex and Diplo joined forces to create Jack Ü in 2013, they didn’t just form a side project — they created one of the most influential collaborations in modern electronic music. Their debut album reshaped the global dance scene, blending bass and pop innovation that led to chart dominance, GRAMMY wins, and an entire generation of producers inspired by their sound.

But what fans didn’t know is that Jack Ü had a complete second album ready to go.

Diplo recently revealed that he and Skrillex finished a full follow-up project that included unexpected guest features, including Florence + the Machine and Charli XCX. The album reportedly explored experimental ideas and pushed their creativity further than the first release — leaning into unpredictable, genre-smashing productions that only Jack Ü could pull off.

Despite the album being completed, it remains stored away and unlikely to ever be released. According to Diplo, the relationship between him and Skrillex deteriorated after the first album cycle. While Diplo has consistently expressed interest in bringing Jack Ü back, Skrillex shows no intention of reopening the project.

Their dynamic had always been built on contrast: Diplo driving bold, pop-leaning concepts and Skrillex bringing unparalleled sound design that defined an entire era. Together, they created a chemistry that felt effortless — and the success of Jack Ü proved how unstoppable they were as a team.

Today, Skrillex is focused on collaborating with artists like Four Tet and Fred again.., while Diplo continues expanding his multi-genre projects and touring schedule. Jack Ü remains frozen in time, existing as a cultural moment that defined a generation of ravers and reshaped what dance music collaborations could be.

Somewhere, an entire second chapter of that story exists — finished, archived, and unheard.

For now, Jack Ü remains one of dance music’s greatest what-ifs.
