Gorillaz Announces New Album The Mountain for March 2026

Gorillaz are officially back with their ninth studio album, The Mountain, landing on March 20th, 2026 via their own imprint KONG Studios. Marking the band’s 25th anniversary, this project feels bigger, bolder, and more experimental than ever — a mix of loss, celebration, and sonic evolution.

Leading with the single “The Happy Dictator” featuring Sparks, the album sets the tone with a satirical yet danceable anthem. Recorded across multiple countries including India and London, The Mountain brings together a truly global cast: Black Thought, Yasiin Bey, Johnny Marr, IDLES, Omar Souleyman, and Anoushka Shankar all make appearances. Posthumous contributions from legends like Bobby Womack and Tony Allen add even more depth.

With lyrics spanning five languages — English, Arabic, Hindi, Spanish, and Yoruba — this is Gorillaz at their most culturally diverse. Expect an album that hits hard on headphones, live stages, and festival fields alike — a soundtrack for both reflection and release.
